SYSTEM
REQUIREMENTS:
WINDOWS
95, 98, ME, 2000 or XP
Note:
You'll need 8.03 MB of free disk space in order to download and
install
the “SLAP-O-MATIC 5000” game. You’ll also need WinZip to
unzip
and install the game. If you don’t have WinZip, you can
download
it from www.winzip.com.
DOWNLOADING
THE GAME:
Download
the game by clicking on the slap.zip link. Download times will
vary depending
on the speed of your modem. Choose “Save this file to disk”
and
click OK. Choose a location to save the file such as your Desktop.
PLEASE
NOTE:
Lately,
there has been an inconsistency when downloading this file. After
downloading
slap.zip, check the file size. Occasionally, it will download
at a
size less than 8.02 MB, which will not work correctly. If it is less
than
8.02 MB, please download it again, overwriting the smaller file. It
may
take a couple of attempts before it downloads as the full 8.02 MB.
INSTALLING
THE GAME:
Double-click
on the “slap” zip icon. This will bring up Winzip. Use WinZip
Wizard
to unzip and install. The wizard will lead you through all the steps
automatically.
Click on “Next” to proceed. Use the default options as they
are
presented. Keep clicking the “Next” button as the wizard prepares the
installation.
Then, click on “Install Now”. This will bring you to the
“slapomatic
Setup” screen. Click on “OK” to begin. Again, use the default
options
and pathnames. The setup program will lead you through the complete
installation.
You will see messages such as ‘Installing Data Access Components’
and
‘Microsoft Data Access 2.1 Setup’. This is normal. Eventually, you’ll see
slapomatic
setup copying the game files. When installation is complete, the
message,
“slapomatic Setup was completed successfully” will appear.
RUNNING
THE GAME:
Go to
Start, Programs, slapomatic, slapomatic to run. You can also create a
shortcut
for the game on your desktop using the path,
“C:\Program
Files\slapomatic\slapomatic.exe”
REMOVING
THE GAME:
You can
remove the game if necessary by going to Start, Settings, Control
Panel,
and clicking on Add/Remove Programs. From there you would highlight
“slapomatic”
and click “Add/Remove” to remove.
The
Story...
The
Stooges decided to attend the Panther Brewing Company's annual golf
tournament
once again. Curly felt that this time, instead of shooting
the gulfs,
he'd try to trap them by digging pits throughout the course.
Unfortunately,
Curly, Larry and Shemp all fell into the holes, making
Moe
furious. Now, all Moe can think of is
to punish the other stooges
as much
as possible.
The
Game...
Guess
what? You're Moe!! Maneuver your bare-hand to smack, clunk and
eye-poke
the other knuckleheads to your heart's content. Make one of
the Top
Five scores and you can enter your initials for posterity. But
beware,
the lamebrains can be quick and dodge you.
They can also taunt
and
make your job more difficult by sending multiple numskulls at once
for you
to annihilate. You can choose difficulty levels from 0 – 8 with
8 being
the hardest.
